Lose to Stanford for Third Time Feb. 24, 2002 – Columbus, GA Sarah Beeson hit a solo home run in the bottom of the sixth inning Sunday morning and that carried Stanford to a 1-0 victory over Cal State Fullerton in the NFCA Leadoff Classic. It marked the third time this season that the No. 3-ranked Cardinal had beaten Fullerton. Tori Nyberg pitched a 3-hitter and walked only one for Stanford. Gina Oaks was the hard-luck loser, pitching a 2-hitter and striking out eight. Fullerton is now 8-8 on the season and plays a doubleheader Wednesday at UCLA.
