Move Up to No. 9 in Latest Coaches Poll Mar. 13, 2002 Fullerton, Calif. A perfect 5-0 week not only vaulted the Cal State Fullerton softball team to the top of the Big West Conference standings, but it also helped the Titans rise in this weeks National Fastpitch Coaches Association poll, moving up two spots to No. 9 in the nation as released on Wednesday morning. It is the highest ranking of the season for Cal State Fullerton, which began the year as the No. 10 in the coaches preseason poll and fell to as low as 17th after opening the season with an 8-8 mark. UCLA retained the No. 1 spot in the nation, followed closely by defending national champion Arizona, which trails the Bruins by just six points and seven first-place votes. Stanford, Louisiana State and Nebraska round out the top five. The Titans will have faced or will face 13 teams currently ranked in the top 25 and three more receiving votes in this weeks poll. Fullerton also has the chance of meeting four more top 25 teams depending on how the brackets shape up at the Kia Klassic this week at the Titan Softball Complex. NFCA Top 25 ####
