Propels Titans to No. 11 in Latest Poll Mar. 6, 2002 Fullerton, Calif. Fullerton, Calif. After posting a 7-1 record last week which included wins over three top-25 teams ranked above them, the Cal State Fullerton softball team rose six places to the No. 11 spot in the latest National Fastpitch Coaches Association poll released on Wednesday morning (March 6). The Titans, who entered last week with an 8-8 record and a No. 17 national ranking, defeated No. 1 UCLA in the opener of a doubleheader at Easton Stadium in Westwood, Calif., on Feb. 27 before earning victories over No. 6 California and No. 11 Oregon State as well as Ohio State and Oklahoma State, which both received votes, at the Worth Invitational. UCLA retained the top spot in this weeks rankings, but lost first-place votes to No. 2 Arizona. Stanford, Louisiana State and Nebraska round out the top five.The Titans have three top-25 teams still remaining on their schedule and have the possibility of facing seven more when Cal State Fullerton hosts the Kia Klassic on March 13-17 at the Titan Softball Complex. The Titans return to action on Wednesday night (March 6) as they host Florida for a doubleheader at 5 p.m. Fullerton then opens Big West Conference play this weekend with a three-game series against Sacramento State at the Titan Softball complex beginning on Saturday afternoon with a doubleheader at 1 p.m. NFCA Top 25 ####
