The No. 11 Cal State Fullerton softball team slugged three home runs on the night and junior catcher Jenny Topping was 3-for-4 for two RBI as the Titans rolled to a 6-0 shutout of No. 6 Oklahoma in day two of the 2002 Kia Klassic at the Titan Softball Classic on Thursday evening.

Cal State Fullerton is now 22-9 overall on the season and has won its last 13 consecutive contests and 14 of its last 15 games. The Titans move to 2-0 in Pool C play during the tournament. Oklahoma fell to 23-7 and 0-2 in pool play.

Oaks (12-2) went the distance for the 10th time this season, allowing just three hits, walking two and striking out seven. Jennifer Stewart (9-3) took the loss for the Sooners, giving up all six runs on eight hits and striking out four.

Topping got the Titans off to a good start in the first, slamming her third home run of the season over the centerfield fence for the 1-0 lead. Fullerton added another run in the third on an RBI double by Monica Lucatero and one more in the fourth on an infield single by Topping for a 3-0 lead.

The Titans iced the game in the sixth, as junior Amanda Hockett led off the inning with her fourth home run of the year and Oaks helped her own cause with a two-run round-tripper two batters later.

Oklahoma left six runners on base, as did the Titans, including bases loaded in the third and leaving two on the fourth.

Cal State Fullerton closes out pool play on Friday afternoon at 3 p.m. as the Titans take on No. 22 Florida State at the Titan Softball Complex.
