Robitaille, Oaks Earn Big West Weekly Honors
Apr. 29, 2002 – Fullerton, Calif.

Cal State Fullerton junior infielder Gina Oaks and senior pitcher Christy Robitaille have earned Big West Conference Player and Co-Pitcher of the Week honors, respectively, the conference office announced on Monday morning.

It is the first Player of the Week honor for Oaks (Alta Loma, Calif./Rancho Cucamonga HS), who has earned Pitcher of the Week honors four times this season. Oaks was 4-for-6 (.667) last week with six runs scored, four RBI and three walks. She also hit a pair of home runs on the weekend, the first of which gave the 2002 Titans a tie for the single-season team home run record set in 1999.

Robitaille (Irvine, Calif./Woodbridge HS) earned her first Pitcher of the Week honor of the season (albeit a shared honor along with UC Santa Barbara's Loren Thornburg this week) after tossing her first career no-hitter against UC Riverside on Senior Day in a 13-0 five inning victory. In her final regular season appearance at home, Robitaille struck out eight batters and faced just one batter of the minimum while walking two.

Cal State Fullerton returns to action this weekend (May 4-5) as they travel up the coast to face-off against UC Santa Barbara in a three-game BIg West Conference series. Saturday's doubleheader and Sunday's single-game will both start at 12 p.m. on the campus of UCSB.
