for 14 minutes at UC Riverside on Oct. 12 and the second half of a 3-1 win
over Fresno State on Nov. 6... Sat out the 2002 season behind Reynolds and
Kyle Polak.
HIGH SCHOOL: Four-year varsity starter at Temple City High School
in Temple City... Team captain both as a junior and as a senior... As a
senior for Coach Eric Hildreth was defensive MVP of the Rio Hondo League...
First-team all-league selection as a junior when team went to the CIF playoffs...
Logged 9 shutouts with a 1.3 goals against average for his career... Also
competed three seasons in track and field as a sprinter... Gained the honor
roll all four years and won numerous student-athlete awards.
PERSONAL: Born on Sept. 25, 1984, in Pasadena, California... Parents
are Jeff and Laura Cowan... Has a younger brother, Scott... Business major
whose goal is to own his own business... Played club ball for the Cal Arsenal...
Credits Coach Noah Kooiman (a former Titan player) for teaching him how
to have a positive attitude and to focus on all aspects of the game... Enjoys
the beach and traveling along with soccer... Most memorable sports thrill
was taking third place among 137 teams in the Dana Cup in Denmark as he
logged l7 shutouts.
