Soccer
FULLERTON: May miss much of the 2004 season after summer surgery to correct a joint in his feet... Made a major impact from his opening game as a true freshman in 2002... Last season started 18 of team's 20 matches and had one goal and one assist... As a freshman earned honorable mention All-Big West Conference honors... Played in all 20 matches, starting every match except one... Team's No. 2 scorer with 7 goals and 15 points... Twice scored 2 goals in a game -- vs. USF at the Santa Clara tournament on Sept. 19 and at UC Riverside on Nov. 6. HIGH SCHOOL: Three-year varsity letterman at Bel Air High School in El Paso, Texas... City player of the year as a senior for Coach Jerry Shaffer... Also earned all-city honors as a junior... Made the all-district academic team all three varsity seasons... Scored 31 goals and had 9 assists as a forward and midfielder... Member of the National Honor Society... Ranked 14th academically in his class of 474. PERSONAL: Born on March 9, 1984, in El Paso, Texas... Parents are Eugene and Deborah Brooks... Has a brother, Andrew, and four sisters - Tiffany, Mariah, Gina and Briana... Biochemistry major who hopes to become a forensic investigator or director... Scored a hat trick in a district finals game including one score from midfield... Has worked in the summer at the Rio Norte Retirement Home... Played in the Olympic Developmental Program in New Mexico... Played club ball for Umbro Elite out of Albuquerque, New Mexico, and the Chargers out of El Paso... Hobbies are soccer and music... Credits Coach Jaime Rodriguez for teaching him to love soccer at an early age.
