Rodriguez, Reynolds Star in Scrimmage
Aug. 21, 2004 – Fullerton, Calif.

Marco Rodriguez scored in the first few minutes and goalkeeper Sam Reynolds came up with three saves on the same penalty kick sequence Saturday night to give Cal State Fullerton a 1-0 victory over Cal State Dominguez Hills in a men's soccer scrimmage on the Titan Track infield pitch.

Rodriguez converted a cross from Ignacio Cid for the only score of the match. The Toros had a considerable edge in ball possession but couldn't put the ball in the net. Midway through the first half, Rick Cobb had a penalty kick but Reynolds blocked the low shot to his right and also batted away two subsequent rebound shots before the ball was kicked into the side of the net.

Fullerton hosts Blue Star in an exhibition match Saturday night at 7 p.m.
