Men's Basketball
Bobby Brown wasn't so much a diamond in the rough but a jewel on the king's crown... Surrounded by other Div. I prospects, Bobby was overlooked by many on his multi-talented Westchester High School team that won back-to-back Div. I state championships and a mythical national championship... Termed the "point guard of the future" but he will press for playing time immediately. WESTCHESTER HIGH SCHOOL: As a senior averaged 15 points and 7 assists for Coach Ed Azzam's Comets... Earned fourth-team all-state honors, second-team all-city selection by the Daily Breeze and second-team all-area status... In the playoffs he averaged 19 points and 8 assists... Two-year varsity letterman. PERSONAL: Born on Sept. 24, 1984, in Los Angeles, California... Parents are Bobby Brown and Gina Jefferson of Hawthorne... Has a sister, Janika, 14... Undeclared major whose ambition is to "play anywhere where I can get paid"... Most memorable sports thrill was making the game-winning shot as a 10-year-old at the Los Angeles Memorial Sports Arena with the highlight airing later that night on KCOP Channel 13 News... Credits Coaches Ed Azzam and George North for letting him showcase his talents.
