Pape Sow (pronounced POP SOH) followed cousin Babacar Camara from Dakar, Senegal, to the Titans' roster last season... He made a tremendous impact upon his arrival and the sky appears to be the limit for 2002-03... "He showed great improvement throughout last season," says Coach Daniels... "He had a great summer. We are encouraged by his progress and dedication coming into this season"... At least two professional basketball websites (www.hoopshype.com and www.nbadraft.net) have projected him to be a first-round draft choice next year by the NBA, rating him as high as the eighth player to be chosen... His outstanding athletic talent, potential to improve and willingness to work mixed with his tremendous development during the course of last season and an impressive performance at Tim Grgrich's summer camp in Las Vegas have excited the scouts and promise to excite Titan fans as well... Aggressive to the basket, he went to the foul line 182 times, or more than twice as many times as any teammate and more than any player in the Big West except Player of the Year Jerry Green of UC Irvine (219)... Breakout game came Dec. 6 at Sacramento State when he came within two points of Richard Morton's school Div. I single-game record of 38 points...
