Men's Basketball Players
Kevin Richardson had a remarkably eventful first season as a Titan and will be counted upon to be a leader for the current edition... Forced to learn the point guard position "on the fly" last year with the late arrival of David Castleton, he ended up playing three positions and contributing in many ways... Is the team's leading returning scorer and has shown the ability to dominate offensively at times... Will likely concentrate on the off guard and small forward positions this season given the Titans' improved backcourt depth. CSF IN 2000-01: Appeared in all 28 games and started 26 of them at three different perimeter positions... Team's No. 2 scorer behind Ike Harmon at 11.6 points per game and averaged 2.7 rebounds and 2.5 assists... Most dominant game was a 24-point effort at UC Riverside on Nov. 25 when he scored almost half of the team's points (52)... Also had 20 points vs. UC Irvine on Jan. 20... Led the team with his .791 free-throw percentage (87 of 110)... Also had best field-goal percentage (.402) among the perimeter players. TREASURE VALLEY JC: Two-year starter for the Ontario, Oregon-based community college... Averaged 16 points and 6 rebounds as a sophomore and 10 points and 4 rebounds as a freshman. SAN BERNARDINO HIGH SCHOOL: Three-year varsity letterman at San Bernardino High for Coach Andre Smith... Played point and off guard as well as small forward... As a senior averaged 21 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists... Earned first-team All-CIF honors and was team's most valuable player... Also played one season of baseball as an outfielder. PERSONAL: Born on Oct. 8, 1978, in Bellflower... Parents are Ron and Norma Richardson... Has an older brother, Ronnie, and a youner sister, Kellee... Criminal justice major who hopes to become a probation officer... Worked in the summer as a security guard... Likes to cut hair... Credits his father for the greatest influence on his basketball career.
