Pape Sow scored 20 points and Josh Fischer and Babacar Camara each had
a "double-double" Saturday night as Cal State Fullerton overpowered
Point Loma Nazarene, 86-50, in a non-conference men's basketball game.
The win improved Fullerton's record to 2-5 while the NAIA Crusaders lost
their ninth game in a row to fall to 1-10.
Camara and Fischer each scored 11 points while Camara grabbed 11 rebounds
to 10 for Fischer as the Titans outrebounded their smaller opponent, 52-32.
John Anderson had 7 rebounds to lead the Crusaders who were led in scoring
by Matt Enloe with 14 points and 13 from Francis Ireifci.
Brandon Campbell matched his career high with four
3-point baskets in only four tries.
The Crusaders hung with their NCAA Div. I hosts for
much of the first half. They last led at 12-11 but were down only 24-18
with 7:05 to go in the half. But the Titans outscored them 22-12 before
intermission and then opened the second half with a 15-0 run for a 61-30
advantage with 15:08 remaining.
The 86 points were the most scored by the Titans in the Coach Donny Daniels
Era. and the 50 were the fewest scored by an opponent.
Fullerton has a light schedule next week due to final exams, playing only
a Saturday night rematch with Sacramento State, which beat the Titans
in overtime on Thursday night in the Capital City.
