Soars, Leads Titans to First Win Nov. 24, 2001 Fullerton, Calif. Box Score Forward Brandon Campbell scored a game-high 18 points and grabbed a game-high 8 rebounds Saturday night to lead Cal State Fullerton to an 84-70 non-conference men's basketball victory over Loyola Marymount. Pape Sow and Josh Fischer each added 14 points for the Titans, who are now 1-2. LMU was led by Greg Lakey's 16 points and 10 each from Andy Osborn and Marcus Smith while falling to 2-2. Six of Campbell's rebounds came at the offensive end and four of them were tip-ins for baskets. The Titans broke the game open at the outset of the second half. After Lakey scored for LMU to cut two points off a 35-29 halftime deficit, the Titans scored the next five points to trigger a 21-4 run over a five-minute span for a 56-35 advantage with 14:16 to play. It was capped by a pair of dunks by Campbell and Kevin Richardson. Fullerton stretched the lead to as many as 25 points at 66-41 with 9:48 to go on a Campbell putback. The final margin was the closest the Lions got. LMU led for most of the first half and was on top, 27-22 with 3:57 remaining after a Smith 3-pointer. But Richardson answered with a trey to trigger a 13-2 Fullerton run to intermission. Fullerton outrebounded the Lions, 36-28, with Sow getting 7 and Josh Fischer and Richardson each adding five caroms. The margin of victory was the Titans' largest over a Div. I opponent since a 24-point win over San Jose State on Dec. 11, 1999. The Titans play their next three games on the road, visiting Baylor, Wyoming and Sacramento State.
