Cal State Fullerton's fencing team tackled four top-20 opponents in a
meet at UC San Diego on Jan. 15 and managed to win one event in each bout.
Against No. 2-ranked St. John's, the Titans won only the men's foil competitoin.
Against No. 6-ranked Stanford, the Titans won only in women's epee;
Against No. 8-ranked Columbia the Titans won only in men's foil;
Against No. 11-ranked NYU the Titans won only in women's foil.
Individually, Patrick Harder went 6-6 in men's sabre and Roland Breden
went 5-7 in men's foil. On the women's side, Senta Brden went 8-4 in women's
foil and Christy Stewart was 6-6 in women's foil.
