varsity player at Northview H.S. in Covina, Calif., where he was primarily
a catcher for Coach Darren Murphy Earned some form of All-Valle Vista
League recognition in each of his four seasons, including co-MVP honors
as a senior, when he batted .478 with six homers and 32 RBI to lead Northview
to an 18-9 record and a league championship Also named a Louisville
Slugger TPX All-American his junior and senior years Had his highest
