NORTHVIEW H.S.: Was a four-year
varsity player at Northview H.S. in Covina, Calif., where he was primarily
a catcher for Coach Darren Murphy • Earned some form of All-Valle Vista
League recognition in each of his four seasons, including co-MVP honors
as a senior, when he batted .478 with six homers and 32 RBI to lead Northview
to an 18-9 record and a league championship • Also named a Louisville
Slugger TPX All-American his junior and senior years • Had his highest
batting average (.515) as a sophomore • Holds Northview career records
for hits (130), home runs (19) and RBI (91).
