Veteran Hurlers Star at Family Fun Day Scrimmage Nov. 2, 2002 Fullerton, Calif.
Veterans Wes Littleton, Sean Martin and Chad Cordero combined to scatter
just four hits over seven innings as the Titan Blue team beat the Titan
White team, 6-3, in the Family Fun Day intrasquad scrimmage at Goodwin
Field Saturday.
P.J. Pilittere singled twice for the Blue squad and four different Titans
drove in runs, including newcomers Neil Walton, John Curtis and Bobby
Andrews. The White team got an RBI double in the second from Jacob Mendrin
and a two-run triple by Justin Smyres in the sixth.
Freshman left-hander Ricky Romero pitched well for the White team, retiring
eight consecutive batters and allowing just an unearned run in three innings.
The scrimmage marked the end of official fall practice for the Titans.
Official practice begins on Jan. 6 with the season-opener set for Jan.
31 against Stanford at Goodwin Field.
