Liebing 13th, Breden 18th as Titans Finish 14th at NCAAs Mar. 20, 2005 –
Cal
State Fullerton placed 14th in the final team standings at the 2005 NCAA
Fencing Championships, which concluded Sunday at Rice University in Houston.
Rachel Liebing placed 13th in women's sabre and Senta Breden was 18th
in women's foil to complete the Titans scoring. Notre Dame edged Ohio

State Fullerton was tied with Air Force for 13th place at the NCAA Fencing
Championships after the completion of the men's competition at Rice University

Sweep Cal Tech, Split with UCSD Feb. 13, 2005 –
Senta
Breden went unbeaten in foil and Rachel Liebing was unbeaten in sabre
Sunday afternoon as Cal State Fullerton swept Cal Tech and split with
UC San Diego in a rare home fencing meet.
The Titans' women beat Cal Tech, 18-9, and the Tritons, 14-13. Fullerton's
men beat Cal Tech, 24-3, but lost to UCSD, 15-12. Brain Fraser went 6-0
in foil while Alex Decker and Jon Cresante (foil) and Otra Oliver (epee)
all went 5-1.
Fencers Suffer Rare Stumble at UCSD Feb. 5, 2005 – The Titans had a rare losing effort at UC
San Diego last week as both the men and women lost to Air Force and No.
10 Stanford, while splitting with No. 11 Northwestern.
The Titans' men were edged by the Falcons (15-12) and Cardinal (14-13)
while defeating the nationally-ranked Wildcats (15-12). The women's side
was swept by all three opponents, falling to Air Force (20-7), Stanford
(14-13), and Northwestern (24-3).
Alex Decker (foil) and Otra Oliver (epee) led the men's team while Rachel
Liebing (sabre) was 8-1 for the women's squad.
Titans Fare Well During Trip to Notre Dame Jan. 31, 2005 – The Titans fared well on their annual trip
to Notre Dame last week as the men's team posted a 5-3 record with the
three losses coming against the top three ranked teams in the nation:
No. 1 Ohio State, No. 2 Penn State, and No. 3 Notre Dame.
The women's team posted a 3-5 record, including losses to the same three
teams.
Individually, Alex Decker (18-6) andBrian Fraser (17-7) led the men in
foil. Rachel Liebing (18-6) in sabre and Senta Breden (17-7) in foil paced
the women's side. Other teams competing were Detroit-Mercy, Northwestern,
Lawrence, Wayne State, and Cleveland State.
Titans Take First in Two Weapons at Western Club
Regionals Jan. 24, 2005 – Cal State Fullerton's men's squad took home
first place in two weapons (foil and sabre) and the women's team finished
second in the same two events at the Western Club Regional Tournament
at UCLA.
Alex Decker (17-0 in foil) and Brian Fraser (17-1 in foil) paced the men's
squad while Rachel Liebing (19-1 in sabre) and Senta Breden (16-1 in foil)
led the women's team.

Split with Cal Tech, UC San Diego Nov. 14, 2004 –
The
Titans split their competition last weekend, beating Cal Tech (20-7, men;
17-10 women) but losing to UC San Diego (13-14 men, 9-18 women). Brian
Fraser and Alex Decker went 6-0 in foil and Senta Breden (foil) and Rachel
Liebing did likewise for the women.
