earned runs in one inning, Martin was spectacular, posting a miniscule 0.44
ERA (one earned run in 20.2 innings) and walking just three • Earned
his lone win when he allowed just one hit, walked none and struck out four
in 3.0 innings against Cal on March 12 • Picked up saves against Pacific
(March 18), when he went a season-high 4.0 innings, and New Mexico State
on April 1 • Made just three appearances after suffering an avulsion
fracture in his right elbow on April 8.

a 6-1 pitching record with eight saves and a 2.45 ERA while striking out
54 hitters • As a junior, was named all-region, all-city and honorable

Was an AIA (Arizona Interscholastic Association) scholar-athlete his junior

are Bruce and Joyce Martin • Majoring in history with the hopes of
becoming a high school teacher and coach • Would like to see Arizona
