TEMECULA VALLEY H.S.: One of four Titan freshman to have played for Coach Rich Emard at Temecula Valley H.S. in Temecula, Calif. • Played third base as a freshman, catcher as a sophomore and shortstop as a junior and senior • Earned first-team all-league honors his last three years and was a second-team All-CIF pick his junior and senior years • Helped the Golden Bears to a combined 83-29 over his four-year stretch, including a 26-4 overall record and the CIF Division I semifinals his senior year • Batted .388 with 16 home runs and 46 RBI as a senior and .436 with eight homers and 40 RBI as a junior • Finished his career with 28 home runs and 123 RBI • Hit three home runs (two left-handed and one right-handed) against Valley View as a junior.
